REGISTER TO SPEAK AT THE KM8 PLANNING MEETING

keep km8 frack freeThe Planning Meeting to decide whether to allow fracking at KM8 in Kirby Misperton, North Yorkshire, has been set for Friday May 20th, at County Hall, Northallerton.

If you have already objected to the KM8 planning application, you have the right to have your views heard by NYCC Planning Committee, who will be making the decision.

PLEASE REGISTER TO SPEAK by sending an email to Stephen.Loach@northyorks.gov.uk with NY/2015/0233/ENV in the subject line. Then briefly say that you have objected to the KM8 planning application and would like to address the NYCC Planning Committee meeting on Friday 20th May.

Please register to speak even if you are somewhat uncomfortable about the idea of speaking in public, as you may be able to delegate your allotted time to another individual to speak on your behalf. The more people that register, the more time may be allocated to allow the Planning Committee to hear local residents’ concerns.

Once you’ve registered, please do the following:
– send an email to iveregistered@gmail.com confirming your name, location and saying you have registered to speak
– Please say if you intend to speak yourself, or if you would like someone to speak on your behalf.

If you haven’t objected yet, there is still time – follow our set of easy guidelines on our updated How to Object page, or go to our KM8 page for a downloadable letter you can use.

When you have objected, please then register to speak at the meeting as described above.

Thanks for your help! And on 20th May, please join community leaders, residents and high profile speakers outside North Yorkshire County Council, Northallerton for a day of peaceful, community-led activities standing with people in Ryedale and North Yorkshire against fracking.
